Trade in for Mac
I have the first gen MacBook Air in fairly good condition. I am potentially looking into getting a MacBook Pro to use for school but I’m unsure if it’s eligible for a trade in and if so how much I would be able to get for it

The original MacBook Air came out in January 2008, and it can't run anything later than Lion. If I'm not mistaken, there was a big change in https security after Lion came out, and the browsers that run on Lion may not have the ability to connect to most modern https sites.
If that is the one you have, I doubt if Apple will offer you anything for it, other than the chance to recycle it for free.
If by "first-generation", you mean that you have a M1 MacBook Air (with a first-generation Apple Silicon chip, from November 2020), that one might still be worth something.
