Videos Airdropped to iPad are overblown in exposure to the point of unwatchablity--cannot edit video Airdropped while in Photos.

Have a 13 Pro iPhone, drop vids onto my 6th Gen iPad so I can view them better, but on playback, the video flips from fine to VERY BRIGHT almost immediately. I've Airdropped a few different times, different videos, updated software, etc. Weirdly, I put a video that was affected in iMovie, and it played back there fine, and exporting it to Photos it also played back fine, though I really did nothing to it except cut out a block of that video to shorten it. OH, and I can't edit the original Airdrop in Photos because it says the file is unsupported. But I can in iMovie. I'm baffled.

Obviously the movie was shot with HDR/HLG DolbyVision that older devices do not support and display washed out colors.

You can workaround that by converting HDR to SDR with Handbrake, Shutter Encoder, ffmpeg, Final Cut Pro (and obviously also iMovie). I did that for a while when my old iPad Pro did not support such HDR movies (I preserved the originals that play OK in a newer iPad Air).
