Can’t transfer original ProRes video via AirDrop without compression

I shot PRO RES video on my iPhone and only reasonable download option I could find was AIRDROP, but it compressed video to H265 and forcing me to uncompress it back to PRO RES because Apple doesn't make it easy to download video files. I dropped the Pro off on my iPhone 16, because this is Amateur Hour.

Totally feel your pain. You’d think shooting ProRes on an iPhone would come with a “no compromises” pipeline, but nope—AirDrop decides to play editor and squeezes it into H.265. Super annoying if you’re trying to keep that original quality for post-production.

If you want to preserve full ProRes, the best workaround is to use Files app + Lightning/USB-C external storage (depending on your model). Just save the original video directly to an SSD or flash drive—no compression, no re-encoding nightmares.

And yeah… “Pro” tools, “Amateur” workflow. Classic Apple move lately.
