Restart your MacBook Pro to reset the Touch Bar. Check if "Show Control Strip" and "Show Emoji & Symbols" are enabled in System Preferences > Keyboard. If enabled, try toggling them off and on. If the issue persists, reset the NVRAM/PRAM. Contact Apple Support if the problem continues.

  • Restart: Choose Apple menu  > Restart.
  • Or shut down: Choose Apple menu  > Shut Down. Then press the power button on your Mac to turn it on again.

No other steps are necessary for Mac computers with Apple silicon.

The steps to reset NVRAM don't apply to Mac computers with Apple silicon, and aren't needed on those computers.
