Notes disappeared after Macbook upgraded to Sonoma

I do not have Notes saved to the iCloud. Poof they are gone overnight after I upgraded to Sonoma.

I was reading solutions people gave after they lost their notes when their systems upgraded to Big Sur a few years ago but I don't know how to get into the programs behind everything and use a solution like this one posted by Pelusa 321 back in Jan 2021:

The installation made a Backup of the notes before installing that is located at:

~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.apple.notes/Backups

I copied the two backup files to the root directory of /group.com.apple.notes replacing the ones there, restarted the computer and that's it! the old notes are back!

I DO RECOMMEND making a backup of the files to a different folder somewhere else, just in case you need to come back to the originals.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6
