Car play not reading text messages

Apple CarPlay not reading text messages? Got my new car in January and it worked fine and then all of a sudden it stopped. It gives a notification of the text received, but doesn’t read it out loud any more. If I use voice to text someone it doesn’t read it back before asking if I want to send it. I’ve checked settings on my phone and they seem to be set correctly. Everything else in CarPlay seems to work. Any ideas?

I noticed when connected to CarPlay wirelessly, but not using the CarPlay App, it no longer switches to CarPlay when I get a text. I can hear it but no reaction on the screen? Car Play text messages wont' play after ios update I see this has been posted a few times but can't find a solution detailed. I use wired carplay in my F150, my wife uses wireless in her brand new Mazda. Since we both updated to IOS18.1.1 neither one of us gets a notification on the screen in our vehicles when we get a text message. Previous to the update, it didn't matter what screen we were in, we'd get a text notification pop up, and then it would take you to the Car Play screen. Now, nothing. Meaning I have to regularly tap the screen to open Car Play to see if the text icon is showing a message has been received. Is there a fix for this?

Carplay not picking up text messages to send out I have an iphone 13 that I use with my car, and have for 5 years. Int he apst 2 weeks, something has happened that will not allow me to send messages over carplay anymore. I can say - Hey Siri, read me my messages - and that works. When asked if I want to respond - this works, as well. When attempting to speak the actual response, however, no sound is picked up. Saying ‘cancel’ doesnt get picked up - nothing is picked up by Siri again until I exist out of messages completely and say ‘Hey Siri, shuffle my music’ or some other such command. Even requesting to read my messages works - but responding to my messages doesnt. I have upgraded to the latest versions of ios (17.4). I have the latest updates on my car software. I have reset the carplay connection multiple times. I have rebooted my car’s infotainment system. Nothing works. Carplay is essenetially useless for text messages. Please advise how to proceed
