You can't ... and Amazon should not have sold it to you. Only the original owner can remove this tag from being associated with their Apple ID. Resetting it will not do that, and this tag will be useless to you.
As such, you should return it to Amazon for a full refund .... and then, just get a new one directly from Apple.
