You probably went to a non Apple store or non Apple service provider. Apple employees know Apple TV 4Ks don't have a USB port and know what to do in that case.

Wherever you went is clearly not an Apple authorized service provider. They should offer the repair or replacement if they know what they are doing.

You must contact Apple Support directly to have your Apple TV issue resolved.

If you see a […] flashing indicator light on the front of your Apple TV, contact Apple Support.

Only an Apple Store or Apple Authorized service provider can fix it.
