How to maintain battery capacity on MacBook Air M1 without using power chord

Issue : Pretty much the title. Remove the power chord, it goes blank, no restart. press power button, it may start but may or may not stay on. Once it stayed on for an hour before shutting down.

Solutions tried and didnt work :

Tried Etrecheck software to find potential s/w issue, found few google services overusing resources and killed/deleted them
Reinstalled Sonoma MacOS
Tried Factory reseting to remove all applications AND re-installing Sonoma MacOS
Always used Apple provided 40W adapter and cable, tried 96W charger from my macbook pro too but didnt work
Battery history always shows nothing past couple of minutes when OS just booted up with help of power chord.
System diagnostics always shows no issues found

Found one more pointer to potential issue :

when I unplugged the charging cable when it is 100% charged and running, it shut down. I started it and opened 'Console' app and got into diagnostic reports and see a report from the time of unplug.

You have done everything I’d have done (more actually) with no success. It is time to contact AppleCare or to make an appointment with your local Apple store.

Yes thanks, I have it on my plan. Just trying to find if anyone got it fixed, did you have same issue ? what was diagnostic and the fix ? cost ?
