I'm looking at purchasing an iPhone 15 Pro. I have to choose between three carriers, none of which I will use. Does it matter what carrier I choose? I can use an eSim with the carrier I am going to use. I understand my phone will be unlocked, so does choosing one carrier over the other matter?

You only need to choose a carrier if you are paying with the Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI) option.
Otherwise, there should be a "Connect to any Carrier later" option you can select.
If using ACMI, then you must choose a carrier and provide a valid phone line with the selected carrier or set up a new one during purchase though.
With that said, in either case, the iPhone is unlocked and can be used with any carrier once you get it.
