How to Disable Split Screen View for Good

I just want to disable split view for good. I really do hate this 'feature'. It is a constant waste of time to manually exit split view. Is there a way I can disable the feature in System Preferences? I know that you will say that split screen view does not get invoked automatically, but in fact, it sort of does. I am always working in full screen view/mode. When an email arrives, I get a notification. If I click on that notification, then the mail message opens and opens in split screen view. I ALWAYS have to close the email, restore the full view and go back to work. Most times, I then have to switch to email and mark the message as 'Unread' as handling it now, would interrupt my workflow. The whole thing is quite a pain. It never helps me.

How do I disable it?

Good morning...

Disable Split Screen Entirely

If nothing else works, disable Split View entirely. Again, click the Apple menu at the top left of the screen, then go to System Preferences and Mission Control. Then, uncheck the box next to "Displays have separate Spaces." This will disable Split View, so you can use your device in full-screen or normal mode.
