Apple Notifications (verified?)

Hi,

I recently have received two messages from Apple Notifications with the Electronic Store name and the verified check mark, as well as messaging hours and the apple website (apple.com). I cannot report it as junk and I am just allowed to delete the chat. I am concerned because I have not purchased anything and tried to look for the tracking number in the Apple website to see if it was legit and probably just a mistake with the phone number. Should I be concerned?

Signs of a phishing attempt:

  • Unexpected: If you didn't interact with any electronics stores recently, especially ones you don't recognize, it's more likely a scam.
  • Suspicious Links: Phishing messages often try to trick you into clicking links. Don't click on any links in the message, especially if they don't lead directly to apple.com.

Here's what to do:

  • Don't click links: Instead of clicking anything in the message, contact the store directly using a phone number or website you know is legitimate (not from the message).
  • Check your Apple Order History: If you're unsure about an order, log in to your Apple account and check your order history. This will confirm if there are any recent purchases.
  • Delete the message: If you're concerned it's a scam, you can safely delete the message. Apple's standard notification system doesn't usually include sender names or verification checkmarks.
