How to fix grayed- out email accounts issue in iOS

I’m using IOS version 17.3.1. When I go in to Settings/ General/Mail all of the accounts there are grayed out so that I can’t review or edit anything for those accounts. There was a similar question posted in 2011 but the answer to that question apparently is no longer workable in IOS 17

Try going to to Settings,> Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions.

If Content & Private Restrictions are turned on, see what you may need to "allow" instead of "don't allow".
