Captive Portal for Public Wifi Login Disappears

I am trying to log onto a public wifi which requires an OTP. The OTP doesn't automatically come into my keypad bar. Please note that I have enabled copying of OtPs from my messages (because it has worked for other use cases).

If i close the portal window to copy the code, the portal vanishes. Even from the “app switcher”.

If i try the open the portal again, a New OTP is shared.

And hence the loop.

How to fix this?? I am missing out on a LOT of airport free wifi here!!!
