Imported songs only play for 10 seconds

I have imported a new CD and it appears to import correctly. However, when I try to play back, it only plays about 10 seconds. I have deleted and re-imported, with error correction on, and error correction off. This problem occurs with three different CDs, all of which are brand new. I'm runnibg Monterey 12.7.3 on an older cylinder Mac. Apple Music is 1.2.5.7. The external CD drive is connected directly to the Mac with USB.

How do I fix this
