We have 2 Mac Book Pros, 2 Apple 14 iPhones , 2 iPads. They shared contacts any time we added one to any of the devices and it immediately showed up on the other device. Same with Calendar entries. Both have stopped working. Any ideas?

It can take a few minutes or more to populate. You can try turning calendars off in iCloud on one device then turning back on and leave the app open so it can populate. Just don’t turn it off on all devices or you might lose the data. Everything is stored in iCloud and should be there to retrieve once you enable iCloud for the desired apps. There’s other ways to go about it but I find it’s less complicated to just turn iCloud on for the apps I need all my data for. Also you should leave iCloud back up on . It backs up overnight when you charge your device. What is iCloud Backup? - Apple Support and make sure you have enough iCloud storage space https://www.icloud.com/storage
Vancouver22, thanks for your reply. We have only one iCloud account and Apple ID. This has worked for over 10years but for some reason our contacts has become factored on both iPads and iPhones and our MacBook Pro.
Just today my wife's contacts on her iPhone has completely loaded up with over 400 contacts and we should have only about 275. We are 80 yrs old and have accumulated many friends and relatives.
At least now we have contacts moving next the calendars.
