My iPhone 15 shows 5G on screen when Wi-Fi is connected. Is Wi-Fi still working?
No, if it says 5G it means you are using cellular. When connected to Wi-Fi the 5G icon is replaced by the signal fan.
When in an area with a known Wi-Fi network the iPhone has previously connected to, it will automatically connect to it again.
If there are no known networks around you will need to manually connect to one at least once then it should reconnect to it automatically the next time you are in the area as long as you have not forgotten the network and the network has not been changed or modified in any way since you first connected to it.
