AirPods - sensor not working

Hi

I am trying to use the sensor to pause, skip tracks, reverse track, answer calls etc yet the sensor control does not seem to be working. I have also reset the AirPods but no luck. What other tips could I try to get them working? I have gen 2 AirPods. Is there a catch with the left or right AirPod being the dominant AirPod?

Thanks.

Hi! So sorry to hear that you're having problems with your AirPod. It sounds like there may be an issue with either the hardware, or the firmware. To double check what firmware you are running, go to:

Settings> Bluetooth> "the name of your AirPods" blue information button > Version.

As of writing this, the most recent version of AirPods 2nd Gen is 6A321. See more here.

If you need to update your firmware:

  1. Put AirPods into charging case - make sure that your iPhone is close by
  2. Leave the case to charge for at least 10 minutes
  3. Check your firmware using the above steps
