AirPods won’t let me work out

I’ve been using my AirPods for about 8 mo during my fitness journey.

Now though, they are unusable. When I lean over to pick up a barbell, the music stops. When I raise the barbell above my head, the music stops.

They randomly disconnect, but show connected in the BT menu.

When I use them on the train, they’re fine… no issues.

Ive disabled the gestures, I don’t know what else to do to restore the usability back.
