To know the answer to that, you will need to know your Macs year and model.

So first go to the apple logo in menu bar,and after that press about this Mac. there you will see your Macs model name and year.

With that in mind, please check the compatibility list for macOS 12 to see if your computer can update to macOS 12

Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and if your model is listed in the article WheelieNick linked to, then download it.

Catalina and above won't run 32-bit software and split the functions of iTunes up; if you choose one of them, use Go64 as well.

if your Mac is compatible, as you can have checked in the list that I sent in my previous reply to you, then you can go to the App Store and search for Monterey and download it from there, You can also use this link: Monterey 12 to download Monterey

Please be advised that you can only download it if your Mac is in the comptatibility list.
