Apple Music shuffle not random

When I shuffle songs in my music library, 80-90% of the songs are taken from a selection of maybe 15 albums. If a song isn't in one of those albums, it is almost never played. The songs that are played repeatedly are from albums that constitute only a small percentage of my library. I have tried closing and reopening the app. I have tried shutting off the phone and turning it ]back on. For reasons unrelated to this problem, I had to do a factory reset of my iPhone. Nothing has any effect.

Shuffle does not work on some of the playlists from Apple Music library From My Library using my playlists, shuffle does not work on some. It’s only a handul of lists this happens with, and I haven’t found any variable that would explain why one list works and another doesn’t. I’ve read similar threads and tried some of those suggestions. I don’t subscribe to apple music so it’s not an auto play issue. I’ve tried all the usual closing the app, checking for/installing updates, shutting down the phone, and still the same result: when I open the list, I can play it in straight order. When I try to shuffle though, the play window just reads ‘not playing’. When I expand that window it reads ‘no music in list’. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Music app shuffle switches from playlist to library I’ve had an odd issue with Apple’s Music App. Has anyone noticed that, say you want to hit shuffle on your favorite playlist, so, you pick the list, hit shuffle and all I’d good for the first three or so songs. Then, once it plays a song which is both on your favorite playlist AND in your general library of songs, your favorite playlist isn’t playing, but instead the shuffle feature is now going through your general library. I’m certain it’s something I’m doing 😊 Anyone?
