entering money amounts without having to put in decimal

How can I enter monetary amounts such as $35.99 in numbers spreadsheet without typing the decimal? The value still needs to stay at 35.99 not 3599. For example, I have 25 items in inventory at $3.99. I want to be able to type 399 in the price column and 25 in the quantity column and be able to multiply the two columns to come up with a total value of inventory of $99.75 for that entry.

If you enter 3599 it will be 3599. It will be 3599 cents. You can create a custom format that will display it as $35.99 but the underlying value will still be 3599. All you need to do in your formula is divide by 100. Quantity * value in cents / 100 = total value in dollars.

The "hundreds" in the format is the scale "K", then changed to "hundreds".
