What does it mean when I get a message in contacts that SIri found this email address on the internet that is already in my contact list & how do I stop this dupication of cards?

When I try to send an email, my contact list will all of a sudden show 2 different locations for the same email address?

Cannot remove outdated email address auto-populating Somehow an outdated email address is attached to a contact and I cannot get rid of it. The email I am using on my iPhone is a personal domain that I use Gmail to check. The outdated email address is NOT saved in my contacts. Not on my iPhone contacts. Not in contacts on Gmail. My suspicion is it's a Siri or server suggestion that is saved on a device (like an old Mac computer maybe?) No matter what I do, I keep sending emails to the wrong, outdated email address because it populates automatically when I type in the person's name, and I don't even notice it's going to the wrong email address because the phone shows me their name under "to" and not the email address. Even though there is NO reason this name and this email address should be attached to each other according to my contacts! How do I remove this email address completely so that it stops auto-populating on my iPhone? The email address does not come up on Gmail so I know the problem is stemming from an Apple product. I am logged into this email account / syncing contacts across several Apple devices (laptop, desktops, ipad and phone). On one of the computers, I opened the contacts app and I found the outdated email address come up, attached to the name and it was labeled "server suggestion," I deleted it completely! But that's why I think the problem is stemming from this same issue just on another device, maybe one I don't even use anymore and have no access to... Is there a way to get the contacts to stop taking "server suggestions" from Google? Thank you for your help!

Unknown email address in my auto fill? I was logging into an app on my phone and my email address along with another address I don’t recognize appeared in the autofill options. To be clear, this has never happened before. I logged into this app maybe a month or two ago with no issue and now this random person is in my autofill. I don’t recognize / do not know this person or this email, and absolutely no one aside from myself has touched my phone to check their email or use this app. The only apple product I have is my phone. I checked my own contact card and the only email address there is the one I use. Out of curiosity, I went to my mail app to see if maybe I got an email from this person a long time ago and it just saved it for some reason, but while they automatically show up as though they are somewhere in my inbox, they can’t be found in any inbox. It’s really weird and I’m concerned as to why this is happening out of the blue. As a test, I logged out of another app and didn’t get that person, so I think it’s just for this one (for some reason?) any idea as to why this is happening?

Siri won't ever add a card without your confirmation. It will offer to create or add information to an existing card if it finds something. But you don't have to accept it.

If you want to stop it completely, go to Settings>Siri & Search, swipe down to Contacts, tap and then turn off "Show Contact Suggestions".
