Apple Music player for kids - iTouch?

We have a Apple Music subscription, and I have created playlists for my kids. I need a portable player (not a iPhone) that can be used similar to a mp3. I've read online that a iPod Touch 5th Generation or later will work. I just want verification that this is true, or insight on any other options. One of the kids is autistic and music helps him cope. I really wish Apple still had a nano or something similar that could be used for kids. Help please...

What device can I get??? Yes is there a device that just allows you to go straight into Apple Music. I want some thing that is not sound for my 13 year-old to have access to Apple Music and Apple Music on late to listen to everything that they want to without the distraction of say YouTube or things in that nature. this way she can listen to her music and fall asleep without watching YouTube are getting distracted by video games on her phone. Apple Music on Portable Devices Since there is no more IPod what do I do? My son is going to camp this summer. He cannot have a phone there, but he can have a MP3 player. Can anyone suggest a lower cost one that has Apple Music on it with storage for music. Not sure what to send him with.

iTunes alternatives Since I ended up with MacOs Catalina, I can no longer manage my iPod's playlists. My iPod is an old iPod Classic but works perfectly, so why should I change it? I only use it to while away the night hours while I don't sleep after all. But I'm really annoyed that the current 'Music' app doesn't let me do anything with it any more. Are there any apps out there that can be used as alternatives (MacOs Catalina compatible) that will enable me to alter, add or delete playlists when I plug my ipod into my MacBook Pro? Maybe to add or remove songs too.
