IOS update 17.4.1 stuck on new iPhone 15. No status bar. Says "update requested". Tried deleting update and requesting it again. No change. Phone is 100% charged and is also connected to WIFI. Picked up this new phone this at 10 a.m. this morning. It's 2 p.m. and the update still says 'update requested' but doesn't show any update status.
Same problem, Apple. Brand new iPhone 15 bought today won't upgrade to iOS 17.4.1. Stuck on "Preparing Update..." for up to 6 hours so far and counting. Even after a hard reboot (vol up, down, hold power) it still won't advance through the process. Yes it's fully charged and plugged in and on WIFI. Help please!
I have the iPhone 11 Pro, which isn't brand new, and I was stuck at that "Update Requested" screen, even after restarting and other attempts.
I found a solution: by connecting the phone to a computer, you can download the iOS update via iTunes on the computer. It takes about 30 minutes, but it works!
I have another problem:
14 pro max and 15 pro.
both updated to 17.4.1 directly from phone procedure.
when I connect to my Mac mini the Mac tell me to upgrade to 17.4.1 even if they are already updated.
if I launch the upgrade at the end of the procedure it goes into recovery, and you can't see it on your Mac anymore.
after restore procedure reinstall and all is fine in the end.
this iusse happens with two iphones

Connect to an MacBook or iMac, in the Finder click update your phone under Finder.
They talked me through power off then restart without transferring anything. Into settings to prompt the update. And voila, the phone still won’t download it…..
Thank you for this advice! I just did it and it has FINALLY updated to 17.4.1!
my next step would have been returning the phone if i hadn’t seen this!

I am having the same issues. Bought this phone at 6pm last night, still says Updated Requested and that’s after a phone call to Apple Support and they couldn’t help me.
