Macbook pro connected to wifi but Internet not working without a vpn

I've had this problem ever since i uninstalled my vpn. My macbook pro has no issue connecting to the wifi but there's no internet unless i turn the vpn on. I've browsed around for so long and found no useful solutions. A friend of mine came over today and finally helped me fix the problem.

Below are the steps to this easy fix:

  1. click the Apple icon on the top left corner of your screen.
  2. click System Settings
  3. click Network
  4. find Locations. if you have Sonoma 14.1, click the "..." drop down menu.
  5. click Locations and click Edit Locations.
  6. click "+" and name it anything.
  7. click Done.
  8. Your internet is back to normal and you're good to go.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2
