iOS 17.4 update issue 10SE phone

Post update I can not make calls despite good cellular and WiFi connectivity. An orange dot appears by my battery display in the top right screen. Turning off all microphone apps has not worked. Help?

When I upgraded to ios.17 my iphone14 won’t call out on my phone Settings for my iphone14plus have made it unable to make calls. The message on the phone says call failed. This change has taken place since I either upgraded to ios17, 17.1, or 17.2. I’m not sure which update affected it since I don’t use the phone for calls too often. It’s main use being wifi apps.

The phone uses the microphone, so if the phone app is open you will see an orange dot.
