When does heat damage battery health

So , I’ve been using my iPhone 13 for around 10 months and managed to keep it at 100 battery health but I accidentally made it get hotter than usual recently and when I checked the battery health it was 99, (a few days ago it was 100).

did this heat damage the battery and cause the loss or is it just a coincidence?

also, does heat always cause battery to age faster or is it only the moment when the phone overheats and displays a warning that causes battery wear? For example, is it ok for phone’s temperature to rise as long as it doesn’t overheat. Or does the heat damage battery no matter what?

about the built in anti overheat program, at what temperature is it triggered ? 50 c?

do I have to worry about effect of heat or not? Are heavy processes like gaming harmful to battery health if they cause heat? Or is it safe as I long as I don’t get any overheat warning?

can I please get a direct answer if my phone’s condition is still “perfect” or not? Cause the thought of potentially damaging it and making it age rapidly is kinda freaking me out. Will my phone still lose between 1-2 health every year? Or is everything fine and there’s nothing to worry about ?

You can expect your Battery Health to go down 1%-2% every month. If you had not experienced that so far then you are doing better than average. The battery degrading cannot be avoided and will happen even if it is not used at all. The more CPU intensive apps you use will have an effect simply because you will find that the device will need to be charged more often. This is not a problem and does not mean you should not use them, it is just a fact that Battery Health is also related to full charging cycle counts.

I recommend just continue to use your device as you wish without worrying about Battery Health and once if falls below 80%, plan on getting it replaced. It is not that big of a deal and should not change the way you use your device. All you can do is make sure you are using the Optimized Charging setting and charge it on a regular basis, usually every night is best.
