I'm trying to transfer the hard drive contents from one Mac to the SSD drive in another Mac via firewire. Both computers ore using High Sierra 10.13.6

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Transferring media from an older MacBook Pro to a somewhat newer MacBook Pro using Target Disk Mode I'd like to use Target Disk Mode to transfer media from a MacBookPro6,2 running macOS 10.6.8 to a MacBookPro16,1 running macOS 26.2. According to this guide, it appears I need to use a Thunderbolt cable to do so. Will this be possible with an adaptor since the older MacBook Pro only has Firewire 800 and USB 2.0 ports?

Connect them with together using a FireWire cable and follow the directions,
