I upgraded from iPhone 13 to iPhone 15 Pro, and it won't finish downloading iOS 17.4.1. It keeps getting stuck at 1 second remaining or preparing update. This has been happening for almost 5 hours. I cannot delete the upgrade because I am setting up a new iPhone. Please help.

Being Stuck in a Boot Loop:
Your iPhone is stuck in a boot loop. And this typically happens when you go about installing an update, and the iPhone stalls while in the process. So, refer to my User Tip: How to Fix an iPhone in a Boot Loop - User Tip
There seems to be a problem with the update server. You can wait until it is fixed, but I suggest contacting Apple Support. They may have a workaround, but even if they don’t it will still be logged, and that will perhaps goad Apple into fixing the problem. Go to Contact Official Apple Support
Set up the new phone without transferring anything from the old phone. Connect the new phone to a Mac or Windows Pc and download the update from the PC. If using a pc, you need to have iTunes or Apple Devices app. After the update is completed (it took about 30 minutes for me), reset the new phone and setup as normal. You’ll bypass the update stage that everyone is getting stuck on. Hope this helps.
