How to fix insufficient space issue on iPhone XR for updating iOS 17.4.1

My iPhone 10 says I need 1.8 gb to download 17.4.1 but I have over 6 gb of space and it’s saying i still don’t have enough space to download the update please fix this

I don’t know why and i have even tried restarting my phone but now it won’t even send the request to update my phone I just want to be able to have the new update please

Apple can't fix your low storage space, that is something you will need to do.

You can either try to free up space on your phone or try updating using a computer. Updating with a computer requires less storage space on your phone.

Sometimes… and what I did was I “offloaded” apps that I don’t use often to free up space. It keeps them on your Home Screen and you can redownload them whenever.


Another thing you could try is deleting unnecessary pictures/videos, and duplicates. and go into your photos app, the ‘deleted album,’ and then select all, clicking delete.
