Today I had several instances of “searching for GPS” on Uber, Lyft, and Waze. Another iPhone in the car was working fine.
Could this be a hardware problem or are there settings that could affect this?
Is there a way to test the GPS?

Get the app “GPSdiagnostic” from the app store. And note that for GPS to work optimally you need to have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on, even if you are not using either, as they are used to refine the GPS signal and track when your phone can’t “see” the satellites due to obstructions such as tall buildings or even heavy rain or foliage blocking the sky.
