Iphone Air GPS location dropping out

Same! I had this today on a drive to the airport. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps would “start” navigation from an accurate point, but wouldn’t update location as I drove.

Closing the apps and restarting the navigation didn’t help either.

The only thing that worked was toggling cellular service, off and on again, which fixed it immediately.

My cellular service outside of location updates for navigation was fine - I was streaming non-downloaded Spotify tracks the entire time without hiccups.

Report this Bug Fix to Apple:

Do your Part: These are just user-to-user forms. Apple barely reads the forums as it is on their own time and will. Apple will know nothing of this concern, if you do not spread the word to them. So, report it to Apple. They wont get back to you directly, but the more they hear about this, the more likely they will look into, knowing what is going on. They will know knowing of this fix, if you don't report it to them.

4. Proceed from there as necessary.

I have the exact same issue, raised a case with Apple, they sent me to the Genius Bar, they did a full reset and made me install every app from scratch and not restore my backup. It is still broken. They asked me to provide videos of the issue which I did. Then Apple stopped responding. My only option at this point is to buy an Android phone and dispose of my iPhone which worked perfectly before iOS 26 'upgrade', as my research indicated other people are having the exact same issue even on the newest phone, so I am not going to throw good money after bad. Disgraceful performance from a $4 trillion dollar company.
