iCloud disabled, photos and backups gone

The weirdest thing just happened and I'm freaking out! 😭 Out of nowhere, my iPhone stopped syncing with iCloud, and pretty much, most of my photos just vanished from my phone! So, I checked my old phone (it's on the same iCloud account, btw), and it still showed all my pics. But then, I tried syncing it with iCloud again, and boom, all those photos disappeared there too! 😡 I even checked iCloud.com, and guess what? No sign of my photos there either!

I had like over 60k photos in my albums before all this craziness started. And to top it all off, I checked the iCloud settings on my phone and realized that backups had been turned off?! There were literally no backups available, which is super weird because I swear it used to back up all the time. Same thing with my old phone—it was logged into iCloud but had zero backups.

Is it just me, or has anyone else had their photos and backups just poof, disappear? Help! 😩

I just signed up for the first time for Apple iCloud. It is losing my files or they are not totally uploaded yet. I am glad that I kept my files on an external drive. What is going on? Also I ordered 2 TB of space and it has only used a quarter of it. When I click on it the file folder it is empty. And they are charging us for that kind of fail?

This is a big surprise that iCloud Photos can be permanently deleted suddenly. iCloud Backup does not cover photos because photos are"backed up as part of iCloud Photos". The photos were never in Recently Deleted. I have some other photos in recently deleted from as far as 28 days ago, but not the almost 60k photos I am missing.

How is it possible that thousands of photos can be deleted and never go to Recently Deleted on my phone or iCloud!
