My iPhone battery is at 93% but shows it needs service
I thought battery only shows service at 80% so why is it showing at 93% (iphone 8)

Interesting. It is unusual to see the battery needs replacing notification at 93% Battery Health, but if the battery is original, it has to be degraded at this point. I'd schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show it to them.
Then the only other option you have is to send the phone to Apple. The link I provided above lets you know how you can arrange to send it to them. Do NOT go to some iFixit kind of place. They don't have authentic Apple Batteries nor the software to reprogram things like Battery Health. And the phone will forever display a message, the phone has inauthentic parts installed. Apple won't touch a phone which has been tampered with by anyone else and it will have zero trade in value if you do let someone else replace the battery.
Since iPhone 8 is now outdated, can't run the most current iOS Software, perhaps a better solution would be to trade in the phone and buy a newer, more modern iPhone at this point. iPhone 8 was released in 2017 and is now an old device.
You can send the phone to Apple. OR, if you are in the US and you have a BestBuy store closer, BestBuy is an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

You don't have to go to an Apple Store. Check the link below to find Apple authorized service shops in your area:
Has the battery in this phone ever been replaced and if so, by whom?
