Transfer playlist from iPhone to Windows iTunes

I originally used a Windows 10 PC to transfer all my music files from my NAS to my iPhone 15. Now I have created an extensive playlist on that iPhone and I can't figure out how to transfer it back to iTunes since I have disabled auto synching.

I reviewed what is stored in iCloud for a phone backup and wonder if that playlist will actually end up there and perhaps can be extracted later using some advanced tool.

I assume that the best solution is to wipe my phone and use an iMac with Apple Music, but I am not sure that I will ever want to enable auto synching. My music library is much larger than my iPhone storage and it seems like that will just create additional headaches.

Sync is the way to get Playlists created on your phone back into your iTunes Library.

One useful method of dealing with this is to use the option to Sync selected Playlists, artists, albums and genres to your phone. Combined with this, set up Smart Playlists that automatically add and remove songs from the phone dependant upon when the song was last played.

What I then do is to have a Smart Playlist that removes songs from the playlist once they've been played (and thereby from the device at the next Sync) and only puts them back after several months. By limiting the size of the playlist and using that to add music to my device, I can control how much space is taken up by music on the device.

Of course, there is music that I want on my iPod all the time, and I can do just that as well.

If you would like more information on how to do this, please ask.

Changes you make to your music library (including playlists) on your iPhone are updated across all your devices when Sync Library is turned on in Music settings. If you’re not an Apple Music subscriber, the changes appear in your music library the next time you sync with your computer. For more info, see the 'Edit a playlist you created on iPhone' section in:

I am not aware of any other way of getting the playlists from your iPhone to your computer.
