Use 70w USB-C adapter for IPhone 14

Hello! Does anyone know if it's bad to use an Apple 70W USB-C power adapter to charge an iPhone 14? On Apple's official website it says that this adapter is compatible with all iPhone 15s, but it doesn't mention anything about previous devices and I'm afraid of damaging my battery.

Thank you very much for your help

It's fine. The phone itself determines the power it needs to charge. You can use the 70W charger, but it won't charge your iPhone any faster than a 20W charger. Still, it won't hurt the phone in any way.

It won't harm it.

The following site mentions both the iPhone 15 and previous devices. See below from Fast charge your iPhone - Apple Support

To fast charge, you need an iPhone 15 model with a USB-C cable like the one that came in the box or an earlier iPhone model with a USB-C to Lightning cable and one of these adapters:

  • Apple 18W,* 20W, 29W, 30W, 35W, 61W, 67W, 87W, or 96W, or 140W USB-C Power Adapter
  • A comparable third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD)
