Apple 2FA does not work

Hey everyone,I've got a bit of a story for you all about something odd I ran into with Apple's 2FA.

So, here’s what happened: I lost one of my devices the other day, and in a bit of a panic, I asked a friend to help me locate it. I shared my Apple ID password with him to log in and use the 'Find My' service.

Here's the kicker: he logged in, and to my surprise, it didn’t even ask for the 2FA code. Not once. This got me thinking—shouldn't it have been a critical security checkpoint? If 2FA didn't kick in at that moment, when should it?

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm trying to figure out if this was just a glitch or something more. I contacted 3 supervisors and they refuse to investigate and blame it on small glitch.

I dont think this should be taken lightly as all of our life data is just one password away for complete stranger

On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch: Go to Settings > your name > Password & Security. Next to Trusted Phone Number, tap Edit. On your Mac: Choose Apple menu  > System Settings (or System Preferences), then click your name (or Apple ID). Click Password & Security, then add or remove a trusted phone number.
