Have Apple resolved the incompatifiltiy between 2 factor authentication & find my iPhone?

A few years ago Apple support warned me that if I were to enable two factor authentication on my Apple ID I'd have to check my phone for a code before I'd be allowed to login to find my iPhone.

That doesn't work because If I've lost my iPhone I won't be able to get my code & I need to be able to use find my iPhone when it's lost.

Interested in enabling two factor & am wondering if Apple now have a solution to this.

You can receive 2 factor codes to other trusted Apple devices logged in with your Apple ID or to other trusted phone numbers you have set up, that can receive SMS messages or even voice calls. Your iPhone should never be the only device that can receive the codes, as that defeats the purpose of 2-factor authentication entirely.
You can log in to https://www.icloud.com/find/ to track a lost device and it will not require a 2-factor authentication code.
