Apple Watch swipe-noswipe

The recent removal of the quick swipe is very inconvenient when biking, where I use frequently to operate direct e actions. I have to say the even while biking I can’t remember ever accidentally swiping left or right. As a recommendation, this could have been a configurable option to let users choose the way that works best. With all the complications already very optionable, I’m somewhat surprised such a large change was made. I work in software and I sometimes feel that User interface people don’t tend to actually use the product yet still believe they know what is the best way to change the interface for others who use it frequently.
