iPhones with usb -"C" connectors ? Not in our house

My iPhone XS and my wife's iPhone 14Pro both use the original old iPhone connector from years ago. Same connector that came with my iPhone 6s. We have C connectors for other devices in our house and they don't fit into any iPhone from 8S to 14Pro. I am confused because C Connector cables are being sold for iPhones XS and newer.

I have been using cables with the magnetic connectors with all my phones in my car for years. When I went to buy some more they only sell C connectors for all iPhones.

iPhone XS, iOS 17

I have never seen a magnetic connector for any iPhone. Only older Macs used MagSafe connectors (2 different versions), and that was only for power. So it isn’t clear what your point is.

All iPhones through the iPhone 14 series used Lightning connectors. The iPhone 15 uses a USB-C connector, because the EU said that Apple could not sell any product in the EU that did not have a USB-C connector. Newer iPads have also switched to USB-C connectors.

You can still buy Lightning cables for your devices that have Lightning connectors. And all devices are shipped with a cable that is compatible with that device. Here is the full range of cables available from Apple→cables - Apple

It includes: USB-A to Lightning, USB-C to Lightning, USB-A to USB-C, USB-C to USB-C and almost any other combination you can think of
