People keep telling me they echo on facetime

I bought an iMac in 2022 and since day one of opening it people have told me that when I'm on FaceTime they can hear themselves echo. I don't hear an echo but multiple people have told me that when speaking no matter what input or output system preference I have or whether they're on isolation, standard, wide spectrum they hear an echo. I saw one other person complain about this without resolution. I'm not sure what the issue is. The only way I've gotten people to stop saying that they hear an echo is by putting wired headphones into the headphone jack which I don't want to (nor should I) have to do on such an expensive computer. Currently have iOS Sonoma but was occurring back when I had Monterey.

Any tips?

iMac 24″, macOS 14.4
