Erase All Content and Settings - What next?

I have set up a new iphone. To send back to my carrier they recc'd the Erase All Content and Settings button. However after following steps 1 & 2, step 3 asks me to login to my iCloud ID again. After logging in, as per usual, I receive a notification that my iCloud is being logged into and a six-digit code pops up on my screen. This is the issue: the phone that I am trying to erase is not providing a type in area for the code I am receiving on the new one & the old one just freezes on the same page. Multiple members of my family upgraded their phone at the same time yet I am the only one to run into this problem. My carrier has provided no solutions but I need to wipe it so I can trade-in and get money off my new phone. HELPPP!!

When I was in your situation at one point, I had to go to the Apple Find My website and remove the Apple device from my iCloud account there. Then when I connected the Apple device to the internet, the iCloud login went away.

Getting Out of a Login Loop:

Perform as instructed here, including the iCloud logout session: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. Did you log out of iCloud prior to resetting this? That is what you always must do, prior to Gavin this away. If so, then it is still logged in to your account.

So, Verify this is NOT your Device:

Verify this device is no longer logged in to your account, by using this link: Check your Apple ID Device List to See where you're Signed in - Apple Support
