The ultimate solution of iPhone sync problems

The problem is several years old, but in the last six months synchronization has become almost impossible without errors and a huge loss of time.

Main failures:

  1. iTunes incorrectly calculates free space or cannot do it at all:
  2. Lack of space for synchronization when there is actually a lot of free space
  3. synchronization stops at the “preparing” step, which does not stop after many hours:
  4. If synchronization does start, then not all tracks are synchronized, or all data is erased and downloaded again (about 10 GB of music is downloaded again, although I added only a few albums).
  5. Сurrent information in iTunes (created playlists, likes, etc.) are replaced by more outdated information from the phone! (to the state of the previous synchronization)
  6. A countless number of different “unknown errors” that can only be solved by resetting and new synchronizing.

Sometimes repeated synchronization helps. In general, it is necessary to restart the Apple service or do a full reboot of all devices. But in the worst case, I am forced to completely reset the synchronization: uncheck all the boxes, synchronize without data to clean up the phone - and only after that download the data again. (that is, again waiting several hours for tens of Gb of data to be downloaded)

The synchronization procedure becomes a nightmare ordeal, requiring incredible effort.

configuration:

- iPhone 12 mini OS 17.3.1 (The problem was in previous iOS versions too)

- iTunes version 12.13.1.3

- licensed Windows 10 22H2 (19045.4046)

- USB 2.0 branded lightning cable

I would really like to understand the cause of the failures and possible solutions.

iPhone 12 mini, iOS 17
