Unable to activate AirDrop on my MacBook Air

I am unable to activate Airdrop on my Macbook. When I go to find domain-Airdrop is there but when I click on it I get the message 'domain-Airdrop cannot be opened because the original item can't be found' and i dont know what to do about this.

My mac wont accept or send airdrops I have been trying to airdrop things to my Mac and it will continuously say it failed. when I try to send things using my Mac it doesn't go through. I have tried to turn it on and off (Macbook and airdrop) and it still doesn't change anything. I don't remember when it started but I would like it fixed. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can get my airdrop to work?

Click accept on Airdrop but nothing happens If I try to airdrop anything to my Mac, a window appears asking to accept or reject. If I pick accept, it appears that the file is being transferred, but then nothing appears in my downloads folder. Every other Mac I use (I have a few) works as you would expect. The only way to use airdrop on my computer is to open the airdrop window on the *receiving* computer. Then, once I check the downloads folder, the file will be there. I followed out the instructions here: Use AirDrop on your Mac - Apple Support But still, no luck.

Go to system settings/Preferences>airplay and handoff to see if you can turn it on there. Domain-airdrop sounds like a file to me not a setting
