Files disappeared from folder in desktop

I edited the video together and when I went to go through the files again today for another purpose, all the footage is gone, the folder showing 0 bites. My Premiere Pro is showing a path to my desktop of missing files. I viewed all the footage with the card out of my computer so it was in there.

Any ideas on what happened and if I can find the footage?

Use your local snapshots or TM backup and see if if there is a copy to restore...
