Control MacBook Pro with 4th Gen Apple TV Remote?
Can you connect a 4th Gen Apple TV remote to a Mac computer without first having to add any third-party apps like Remote Buddy?
Thanks!
MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.4

No, the Siri Remote/Apple TV Remote is made for use with the Apple TV box (4th gen. or later) only.
(Else this third party app v2 wouldn’t have a market for this feature. They do have a 30 day trial, though.)
Use your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote - Apple Support
All models Apple TV remote and their compatibility - Apple Support
(There are also third party presenter devices that are compatible or can be made compatible, e.g. from Logitech.)
(There are also mobile apps that can function as remote for select Mac apps, e.g. Apple’s Keynote Remote.)
