Liquid damage due to bad seal after service

My phone microphone stopped working and i took it to apple store and they replaced it under warranty. A few months later, i dropped my phone in the water and water went into the camera lense and everywhere. Its very obviouse that this is due to a bad seal after service. I had used my older iPhones to take under water photos. Its obviouse if the phone his the water for 2 seconds and water Goes into face id and camera, its the seal issue after service. How can i convince them that this is their fault. The phone is completely dead. Please dont respond with useless comments saying apple does not cover water damage.

iPhones are water resistant, they are not waterproof.

There is no warranty coverage for water damage.

About splash, water, and dust resistance of iPhone 7 and later - Apple Support

To prevent liquid damage, avoid:

  • Swimming or bathing with your iPhone
  • Exposing your iPhone to pressurized water or high velocity water, such as when showering, water skiing, wake boarding, surfing, jet skiing, and so on
  • Using your iPhone in a sauna or steam room
  • Intentionally submerging your iPhone in water
  • Operating your iPhone outside the suggested temperature ranges or in extremely humid conditions
  • Dropping your iPhone or subjecting it to other impacts
  • Disassembling your iPhone, including removing screws

Extracting the Water...

Take it to a Retailer:

The only inexpensive way I can think of(an it will cost money) is to take it to a retailer, seeing if they have a device that gets the water out of a phone. Retailers have these.

No, they would just basically replace the phone out of pocket. I asked if they can at least try to dry it. There is nothing to loose since its pretty much considered dead. but they said they are not allowed to touch it since the water damage is obvious.

I understand water resistant, but if a water goes into the camera and everywhere after a few seconds in water, while it doesnt happen for a similar phone that has not been serviced. its obvious to me that the issue is the bad seal after service, but i dont have a way to prove it, so im out 800$.

Taking this to a Retailier:

You don’t have to prove at all to the retailer. If you don’t want to take this to a retailer, then don’t. I don’t know the name of the device, but essentially the device shivers the phone and suction can be heard. I’ve been assisted with it, and it’s less than 20USD. And let’s face it: Smart Phones have cameras, and this seems to work.

It happens to phones which haven't been serviced as well. If water gets inside the phone, which can happen with ANY phone, it's usually fatal. Its unfortunate, of course, but there is no such thing as a waterproof phone.
