Unable to restore depth effect I was getting with iOS 11 wallpaper

Hi, I have an elderly iPad air2, running ios 15.8.2 (that the highest ver it allows me to use) that I bought on eBay five years ago. The wallpaper was the sand and sea image that came with ios 11, but the really unusual feature was the depth effect between the icons and the wallpaper. Never thought anything of it, until I had to reset my iPad due to the sound not working, but ever since I been unable to restore the depth effect. After hours of trawling through the interweb, Ive drawn a blank, many forums claiming the depth effect couldn’t possibly have been enabled until iOS 16 which I can’t load, so how was I getting the depth effect on my iPad, and how can restore it? I don't have any iPadOS 15.x devices with which to check the exact path in settings (my test devices are iPadOS 16.7.x and 17.4.x - plus two much older devices with iOS 12.5.7 installed) - however, the perspective feature to which I believe you refer is associated with your Wallpaper:

Settings > Wallpaper

Here you will see two images that relate to the currently chosen Wallpaper - your Lock Screen (left image) and your Home Screens (right image). Tap the Lock Screen wallpaper image to open its associated settings. Depending upon the installed version of iOS/iPadOS, at the bottom of the screen you should either see a central Perspective Zoom button or a settings bar - where you can enable or disable the Perspective Zoom feature.

By example:

Having enabled/set Perspective Zoom, ensure that you have not enabled Reduce Motion in your Accessibility settings. The path to this setting may differ for your iPad version - but here are two examples:

iPadOS 16/17

Settings > Accessibility > [Vision] Motion > Reduce Motion - set to OFF

iOS 12

Settings > General > Accessibility > [Vision] Reduce Motion > Reduce Motion - set to OFF
