Scam Email?? says my iCloud account stolen

I've received a threatening email that "appears" to have come from my account, when I click on the email it says I need to pay xxx USD and they have videos of me doing things I have clearly not done. Claiming a program Pegasus has been installed on one of my devices.

I'd write it off immediately except for one thing.. I use an @me account, but I think this is coming from the associated @iCloud account.

Anyone know if this is a known scam??

Yes, it is a common scam attempt. Do not interact with the message or the sender. Do not click “unsubscribe”, if that option is presented. Delete the email.

I got that same email on my iCloud account. I guessed it was a scam and deleted it. Good to read I was correct.

Good Job for not falling for this latest scam tactic that tries to scare you into thinking your account has been hacked. Just the latest expansion of spoofing the email address of the sender to make it appear that it was yours.

Oh yeah got that Sunday.thinking how would this dumb idiot have something that never happened. They are just uneducated desperate dimwits. Mine asked for crypt from some crypto never heard of yet for like 1250 USD. Think can report it to apple this one has a email but it’s likely a fake email for the scam.
